Wrestling in South Plainfield, New Jersey

Combinations Martial Arts & Fitness is located in South Plainfield, NJ, home of the South Plainfield High School Tigers. The Tigers are ranked as the top wrestling team in the entire state of New Jersey. The Tigers also produce the higest seated participants for the New Jersey State Interscholstic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Wresting Championships held annually at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.

Most of Combinations' wresting students aspire to join the ranks of the Tigers when they enter South Plainfield High School. In fact, some of our students already wrestle with youth leagues but train with us during off-season to help make their dreams come true. Our head trainer wrestled at South Plainfield High School and has won numerous awards.

Here at Combinations, we take this martial art form seriously. Wrestling is a martial art that employs a variety of grappling techniques including, but not limited to, the following:

• clinch fighting
• throws
• take downs
• grappling holds
• and ultimately pins

Mostly practiced for competition in middle schools, high school, colleges and the Olympics, wrestling also has uses in hand-to-hand combat (such as military situations and applications) and superior positioning (such as law enforcement).

Combinations offers a variety of programs primarily designed for middle and high school aged members seeking to prepare for their scholastic team or to learn and fine tune techniques for the next wrestling season.
