KRU Training's Muay Thai (Kickboxing) Class in New Jersey

Muay Thai is a martial art form that is over 2,000 years old.  This combat sport originated in Thailand and has been referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” for its use of eight points of contact (punches, kicks, elbows and knees).

At Combinations in South Plainfield, New Jersey, Muay Thai is taught and practiced in a safe yet fun and high-energy environment.  The members of this program utilize State-of-the-Art protective gear and engage in maneuvers under the guidance of qualified instructors.  All members are taught to respect the rules of the sport, the academy and, above all, each other.  All are encouraged to participate to their fullest potential to benefit from the intense cardio work out that is provided through Muay Thai / Kickboxing.  This program can burn up to 800 calories per session, reduce weight, body fat and inches from the waist line, and sculpt and tone muscles.

Muay Thai / Kickboxing will improve your coordination, flexibility, strength and stamina through learning and executing a multitude of repetitive striking techniques. This program is perfect for members of all ages, genders, fitness and skill levels.

Muay Thai / Kickboxing also builds esteem and confidence as the student learns sportsmanship and self-defense while practicing this art form.

Combinations utilizes the Muay Thai curriculum developed and practiced by Ace Ramirez of KRU Training (North Bergen, NJ). The curriculum consists of 3 Levels broken into 9 Progressive Ranks. 

Level 1: Offense Tool Development and Conditioning

Level 2: Defense Strategy and the art of Holding Pads

Level 3: Awkward Styles. This is an exposure to not just classic Muay Thai technique, but recognition and application in the practice and defense when faced with other martial arts styles and street scenarios.
